ArtWorks DeLand has partnered with the DeLand Police Athletic League to sponsor a 6 week art program led by our volunteer Artist Members to help bring the benefits of creativity through art to local children.
The PAL mission is to provide quality athletic and educational activities for at-risk children in the Greater DeLand Area at low or no cost to the participant. This fits beautifully with ArtWorks’ own mission of promoting art and mentoring the next generation of artists while expanding the art community in our own backyard.
The kids and artists alike have had a great experience so far and we hope to continue offering programs like this with community support. ArtWorks is run by a group of volunteers and we use this money to purchase art supplies, promote programs like this one, and continue to pursue ways to give back to our community.
